Coach Spinelli began coaching in 2000 at his Alma Mater, De La Salle High School, where he was the Freshman Defensive Coordinator.  In 2005, he was hired to teach and coach football at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School.   As Defensive Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning Coach SPSV won several league championships and one NCS title.  In 2012, Coach Spinelli chose to teach at SPSV and commute to Jesuit High School in Carmichael to coach football.  With Coach Spinelli they were very successful at Jesuit High School.  Coach Spinelli returned to SPSV in 2016.  Prior to returning, SPSV had a record of 2-8 and had only made the playoffs 2 times in four years.  With Coach Spinelli as Defensive Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning Coach, SPSV won two consecutive NCS titles, one Northern California title, and one California State Championship.

Spinelli began playing football for the Pleasant Hill Rebels (now Falcons).  Spinelli, proud of his time with the Rebels jokes that his cleat marks are still on the field.  He played alongside many great College Park Falcons and several members of the 1993 league champions.  Spinelli went on to play at De La Salle High School where he was the defensive captain.  After high school, Coach Spinelli chose to continue playing football at Diablo Valley College until a torn ACL ended his playing career.  Passionate about football, he began coaching just 2 years later.

When asked “How things are going so far?”, Spinelli replied, “I’m very excited to be at College Park High School and blessed to surround myself with so many good people”.
