So far this season, the varsity girls have had a solid start despite losing three starters from last season. This team may be new, but thanks to captains Sophia Gill, Emily Medina and Megan Downing practices have been running smoothly and the team is working hard to develop new plays. They just participated in the Washington Fremont Tournament and came away with a few wins. Great Job to Megan Downing for being the leading scorer so far this season.
During an interview, Nalani Cordova Smith provided some insight into how the girls have been doing. The smoke from California fires interfered with the games early in the season, and the first two games that were played were lost. Their first win was a home game against Richmond, and the girls basketball team has only played 7 games so far. The team is preparing to play in the West Coast Jamboree next week, good luck girls!
