The Varsity basketball team had a fantastic season this year with a record of 22-6 and went 9-3 in league. The falcons had many influential players, one of them being senior point guard Zyon Pullin who won 2 tournament MVP’s early in the season and was our leading scorer throughout the year. The falcons also have sharpshooters and ball handlers including Diego Paredes, Josef Laxa, Ben Tellez, Cam Smith, and Danzell San Mateo. Not only did the falcons have weapons from the perimeter, they were also very deep in the post with forwards Dennis Pomazanov, Thomas Romo, and Ramon Farias. Zyon Pullin said his favorite moment during the season was when he scored 45 points in a game against Palo Alto High School.  This was a new College Park school record for points in a single game held by Doug True (40 points) since 1976. There were a lot of big games on the schedule this year including exciting games against Las Lomas, Northgate, and senior night against Clayton Valley Charter. The boys won all three of those games by a wide margin. After a dominant regular season the boys went into NCS as the 5th seed in the Division 1 bracket. The Falcons beat the 12 seed Clayton Valley Charter High School in the first round of the NCS playoffs with a final score of 85-68. The falcons successful season came to and end in a second round NCS game against 4 seed San Leandro with a final score of 78-66. The boys put on a show all year long, drew big crowds and were exciting to watch. It was so exciting to see all the amazing dunks and hearing the sound of all the swishes. The Falcons had yet again balled out all year long. The boys are looking forward to another successful season next year with our returners and up and coming underclassmen.
