If your interested in involving yourself in the College Park’s softball team here is a layout of our prior workouts to the season and our weekly routine.  Prior to the scheduled season, we start workouts with an athletic trainer at the Foundation to build agility, footwork, balance, teamwork, and bonding. We begin training at the end of October. We train every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30. Also, we practice on the field on Thursdays with a couple player’s parents to get in our reps from 3:15 to 4:45. These workouts are not mandatory and our coaches are not allowed to be there, but it helps you get into shape, bond with your fellow teammates, and the coaches recognize effort because he has a list sent to him on who attended. We have a week long try out to see who was cut, made JV, and who made Varsity. When the season starts we begin practicing five times a week until games start. We usually have games every Tuesday and Thursday.

During the 2016-2017 softball season we had many ups and downs. We started the season with a record of 4-0 and all of a sudden we fell into bad habits. We couldn’t seem to pick up our heads and come together to win. We have some amazing talented girls that have so much passion for the game and have been playing most of their life. We all play travel softball, so when we come together we expect to be a high caliber team, but we weren’t able to meld together. At the end of the season we realized that we can all be great individuals, but if we don’t come together as one, we’ll never succeed.

Looking into the 2017-2018 softball season is very exciting. We have one of the largest senior classes we’ve had in a long time. Two of our seniors are committed to colleges to continue their love for the game. We are expecting to receive a great group of incoming freshmen, with at least one who has already verballed to a college. We are expecting a very competitive and successful season.
