Being a student athlete with plans of going to the collegiate level requires a lot of time and effort. The recruiting process, with my experience, has been time consuming and frustrating. It isn’t just contacting a coach, telling them you are interested, and automatically getting a spot on the team. You need to be able to prove that you have what it takes to be given a spot on the team. There are a ton of different things colleges need from you. Creating an athletic resume is an easy and way to give colleges all the information they need from you. The things that should be

included on an athletic resume are: your name, contact information (including parents), home address, NCAA number, where you go to high school (including address, phone numbers, and your counselor), your height weight information, your GPA, SAT scores,  your graduation, references, statistics, accomplishments, clubs you play for, and different types of community services you have completed. You also want to add in one clear picture of you and the best, most clear, action shot of you. Organizing these pieces of information in an organized fashion is clear for coaches to understand, and extremely easy for you to send out to them.

You actually send the same exact resume to every single college coach you are in contact with. Making an account through the NCAA eligibility center is required for athletes who want to play division one or division two sports in college. It helps you, and college see if you are eligible to play your sport. Once you have all this completed, this process becomes a little bit easier. Do not just fall back and think everything is done for you after that. Getting in contact with coaches is important, but staying in contact is even more important. Coaches have a lot of different student athletes getting in touch with them, so it is important that you get your message seen. This might require multiple different emails before you even get a response. If you are really interested in a school, it is important that you make it known that you are very interested and have the potential to succeed at this school. No matter how frustrating and stressful this process is, it is important to start early and put a lot of time into it.
